First, thank you for volunteering with MYFC!
- Without volunteers, we have no football club!
- And we are proud of what we do...
- All volunteers must align with our ethos, policies and guidance.
- Please take a moment to study the Volunteer Information (below).
- Also, be aware of the Other Reference docs (below).
- Note: Ongoing guidance for Team Admins is regularly updated on the Team Admin page.
- Note: It's worth being aware of the info given to players/parents on their Welcome Pack page.

Volunteering
Do I need a DBS check?
Usually! See table.
How do I obtain this?
First, obtain an FA Number (FAN):
- The FA uses this number for all your FA activity
- (Courses, etc)
- The process is described here (see step 1).
After obtaining the FAN:
- All volunteers who interact with children need a DBS check.
- It needs to be club-specific.
- A DBS is needed before any work with children can begin.
- The process is described here (after step 1).
What courses/qualifications do I need?
The table shows what you need according to role.
Click below to see how to proceed each.

Note 1: At least one coach per team must complete the FA Intro to Coaching Football course. However, we encourage all our team managers/coaches to do this.
Note 2: A DBS or course/qualification is not required if Team Admin volunteers are solely admin and will never interact with players. However, we encourage all Team Admin to obtain a DBS and take the Safeguarding course anyway. (This is good practice and provides cover to the coaching team at short notice, e.g. illness/emergency).
Note 3: A DBS or course/qualification is not required if non-team-related volunteers perform solely off-pitch roles and will never interact with players.
