Safeguarding
MYFC takes its responsibility to safeguard the children playing football with us very seriously. Our Safeguarding Policy can be found here.

We have two club welfare officers who can be contacted if players, parents, or coaches have any concerns about something they have seen or heard during training or matches. The Club Welfare Officers can be contacted here.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns at all about any child welfare matter.
All coaches, managers, and parent helpers must undergo an FA-cleared criminal record DBS check BEFORE they can coach children. This process identifies anyone with a previous conviction. The FA, rather than clubs locally, authorises who can coach.

In addition, as an England Football-accredited club, all MYFC volunteers must have an in-date FA Safeguarding Children qualification; all of our team managers and coaches are expected to have an in-date FA Introduction to First Aid qualification, and at least one coach per team must have completed the FA Introduction to Coaching Football course.
The Club also follows the FA-recommended ratio of adults to children when coaching. This ratio is 1 adult to 8 children for age groups up to and including U9 and 1 adult to 16 children for U10s and above, provided that there must always be at least 2 adults with the minimum qualifications at every training session. Coaches are not permitted to coach alone.
