Girls Football
(MYFC Angels)

MYFC Angels is the umbrella name for our girls' football teams. Qualified coaches run each team, overseen by Becky Knox, a Level 2 qualified pro-sports coach, and one of our Club Welfare Officers. Girls teams are organised by age group, currently U8 (Y3) to U16 (Yr 11).

Note: Girls younger than U8 are encouraged to play in the Boys/Mixed team from U5 (Year 'R').

Note: The opportunity to feed into the Marlborough Town FC Ladies team commences at age 16+.

We have over 200 girls playing football, and some of our groups are very popular, but we do our best to give playing opportunities to all girls who want to play, no matter their ability. As a local community football club, we want all our players to develop and have fun playing football with their friends.

Girls teams who are U9 (Year 4) and older play in the North Wilts Football League. Most fixtures are played on Saturday mornings. League fixtures are listed on the FA’s Full Time website here (select the relevant age group and division).

Our U8 girls (Year 3) play in regular girls football festivals and friendlies. For girls below Year 2, we encourage them to join our Mixed Football age groups as we believe this is best for their development.

All our teams have FA-qualified coaches, and during the season, they train at least once a week at various locations in and around Marlborough.

FA National Wildcats Programme

After Easter each season, we run a Spring / Summer programme to start a new U7 age group for girls nearing the end of Year 2 at school.

We run this programme in association with the FA as part of their national Wildcats programme. Its objective is the promotion of girls' football, encouraging more girls to give football a try.

We have been running our Wildcats programme for numerous years now, with great success. Of note, we are delighted that it has culminated in MYFC's Grassroots Football Excellence Award for Outstanding Provision of Girls Football (2023)

Membership Process

We can also provide more information about the club membership process (see here). We prefer that all players attend at least one training session and speak to the Team Manager before submitting a membership application for approval.

NoteWaiting lists can apply.

New Player Enquiries

Please email all new player enquiries prior to joining (link below). Include player name and current school year. We will then connect you with the Team Manager, who will provide you with more information about the age group, including training times and locations. â€‹
